Overview

Immortal Empire bioweapons that fulfill the role of main battle tanks are often just called biotanks. They are very large, heavily armed, heavily armored, low maintenance weapons meant to draw enemy fire away from the more expensive equipment and soldiers. And while they may not be as fast as an ‘Asura’ they require much less fuel. Actually, they require exactly no fuel!

A biotank’s thick plating combined with their ability to rapidly absorb energy makes them very very durable. And when this is combined with a decentralized nervous system and accelerated healing it becomes exceedingly difficult to actually put one down.

Depending on how much energy it has left when it dies a biotank could explode with quite a bit of force. This is bad for those that killed it as this explosion casts the thousands of parasites that infest a biotank far and wide. Even if it doesn’t explode the parasites will still leave the body, no longer having any reason to remain. These parasites, while small, are still quite deadly in numbers and further add to a biotank’s role of distraction.



Notes:
-*HyperSpatial Shielding results from a rare mutation that occurs during the biotank’s growth. It is rare and unreliable but can prove very powerful at times.

-There are many more variants of biotanks than just the two shown here.

-Biotanks are found on all worlds held by the Immortal Empire as part of the planetary defenses.

-Due to the easy and low cost of production and maintenance, biotanks are usually among the first waves of an invasion. And if carried by a bioship they can be cocooned and fired at planets for a quick, if somewhat erratic planet fall.
